Choosing "types"

So, when I talked to Aubrey (head of MT) over the summer, he was started to explain how sometimes they don’t accept people not because of their talent, but because they have too many of “them” in the department. Although each person brings something unique about them, there are “types” they cast you in, such as leading male, ingenue, mother, sidekick, etc.

I was wondering the type of students that will be at the school next year (not seniors graduating in 07), to see my odds.

I am about 5’5’’, thin, brown hair, contemporary ingenue (belt).

anyone know?

(you can post about you too, to see if your odds are good? ha!)

idk... i go to a performing arts school in manhattan and i think 5'5" thin brown hair belty is pretty common, but don't take that as a bad thing. the school might have a scarcity of them right now, maybe they have some short blonde kristin types, who knows.

I'm male... 6'3"... thin... dancer's build... short brown hair... traditional leading male (baritone)

Well i'm a guy and I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY LOOK for with the guys lol! I'm about 5'6....slim and slender, brown hair and hazel eyes. I really don't know how to classify my voice because i'm classically trained. But if I had to guess i'd probably be either supporting male or lead male baritone DEPENDING on the type of role it is.

I'm about 5'6-5'7; I'm not exactly slender, but I'm not obese either. I have always been told I have a leading male voice (tenor) with a character man's body. So we'll see how it goes.
