Has anyone tried silicone muffin trays? Apparently, easier to pop things out. Like this one:

I have silicone loaf pans - literally just popped some orange cranberry quick bread out of it 10 minutes ago!
I have a loaf one (one pan makes 4 small loaves) and a scone one. I often still spray the pan but yep, they pop out pretty easy
I don’t have one but would try it. I use the silicone reusable cupcake/muffin cups and love them.
So D2 had to make another batch of chocolate Spritz because the first was gone. None left for Christmas dinner. I hid them.
I actually might make more chocolate crinkles.DH ate the whole first batch. At least they are easy!
Thanks for sharing the recipe. Made the cookies with macadamia nuts and cut the sugar in half - my husband approved. Keto kids are coming tomorrow, I’m sure they will approve the no flour dessert.
Oh, interesting. I’ve never seen this. I love love my silpat
Do you have a trick to help the powdered sugar stay white? Mine look beautiful out of the oven, but within a few hours the powdered sugar turns yellow-ish and gets a little sticky. These cookies are delicious, but not my favorite to give because I don’t love the way they look!
You have to let them cool a bit before you roll them in the powdered sugar. Otherwise it melts. I mixed red and green regular sugar in the XXX this year too to give my Russian tea cakes some sparkle.
I have a DIL allergic to walnuts and pecans but not almonds. I use green sprinkles in the powder sugar for ones with almonds so we can tell at a glance they’re ok.
Yum! I love macadamias; I might try that with a little coconut! I hope your kids enjoy
My candy canes were “meh”. and shortbread came up short. Black and Whites were a hit. I know which ones i will make again next year.
Oh, I guess crinkle cookies to me are the kind that crack open while they bake. These have to be rolled in powdered sugar before baking to get the crack effect. Chocolate Crinkle Cookies Recipe - BettyCrocker.com
SIL approved!! He does not eat desserts, but he ate 2. So that is a seal of approval. I shared the recipe. Thank you again!
I think @thumper1 was talking about the Russian tea cakes, not crinkles in her comment about cooling the cookies first.
Yes, I was talking about Russian Tea Cakes.
I’ve never had an issue with the XXX sugar changing in Chocolate Crinkles. They stay white. They need to stay on the cooling racks until they are very cool. If put into a container while even a little warm…the xxx will melt.
Thanks for the maple dipped Gingerbread cookie @JustaMom5465! It was a huge hit with the family. It’s now on the regulars list😀 I also added this as a new one this year. I used almond extract and added a chocolate drizzle and everyone loved them. Easy and Amazing Oatmeal Lace Cookies | Julie Blanner
I am not a baker, but, once a year, I make these small, donut-like treats on New Year’s Eve.
Do you know if the raisins can be omitted? Our family does not appreciate raisins.
Yep! My Italian mom made these for NYE too but we hated the raisins so she left them out of half the batch.
