<p>How similar are Env. E and Civil E? Is there a good market for upcoming Env.E's compared to Civil E's?</p>
<p>At my school, CivE and EnvE are in the same department, but are on different tracks. About 75% of the courses are the same for both but in senior year you spend time taking courses in your specialization. At my school, EnvE is harder than CivE not because of the material but because the EnvE profs are extremely harsh.</p>
<p>EnvE grads have better job prospects than CivE. The construction industry is in a dump right now and that’s where many CivEs get hired. However, will all the “green” mania going on, EnvE graduates are getting jobs. </p>
