Claremont mckenna college ed 2025

decision comes out in four days! does anyone know the acceptance rate for non athlete ed applicants? cus i know that 30% of accepted ed applicants are athletes.

Does anyone know HOW Claremont notifies for ED1? Do we get an email? Do we need to check Common App? I know some schools have portals, but we don’t think we saw anything about one…

Here a CN international student applying for ED 1. Does anyone know the exact time that the result will be released? It seems that CMC does not offer any other information via email or on social media.

Hey if you check your email CMC has sent a link for the portal, in which you could check your material and application status (though no new update available lol)

Thanks, Zeddd. Of course my son never checks email and was insisting he never got anything. Had to dig back to November 1, but we found it!

Now, who else is madly refreshing the portal link today?

Good luck to all!

I am happy to report my younger son has been accepted!! He couldn’t wait to check it on the applicant/student portal. Two in two years at CMC. Both of my boys are ED applicants.

good luck to students and parents awaiting CMC decision.

Thrilled that S’21 will officially be joining the CMC class of '25 and will be a sprinter on the CMS track team!! Good luck to everyone still in the process-- we can’t wait to meet everyone and hear your stories!

@KalParent2024, congrats!! I love to hear legacy stories-- clearly shows there’s something good going on at CMC. We are east coasters and were almost 4 for 4 at Middlebury-- dad '89, me '90, daughter currently there '23, and then in August, son was recruited and made an offer by the track team for '25. Feeling tremendous pressure by the whole dynamic, he accepted the offer, but I could tell he had very mixed feelings. Then in October, he did some soul searching and realized he really needed to carve his own path, and CMC was the place for him. He made a tough but positive call to the Midd coach, enthusiastically pursued CMC, and today we are celebrating his acceptance… and exhaling!

We’d love to hear your sons’ stories and any input you may have on entering the CMC family!

congratulations @beagl1.

My younger son, class of '25 is recruited by track coach for throwing program (discuss and shot). I am guessing, your son and my son might have met virtually during the recruit calls.

He fell in love with the school (campus, academic programs and athletics) when we dragged him with us last year (2019) during his older brother’s college campus tours. My older son, class of '24 fell in love with the program too. He is also a recruited athlete into football and track & field programs. Like many students, he attended college from his room, this Fall. Looks like they both will be joining the campus life together in the fall of '21 (fingers crossed), as CMC said no in person classes for spring '21. So far, I am super impressed with college administration and academics.

good luck

Congrats to all of the above the lucky!! However, I wonder if there’s anyone like me who haven’t received any update… That’s suffering…

My son will be class of 25 on the football team. Hoping they will be in person and playing in the Fall!

Seeing lots of athlete-focused acceptances. Curious what the vibe is like at CMC for a sedentary student?! I know everyone refers to the consortium and you can find your people anywhere. How unique is the culture at the school, and if there is a strong “type” you don’t fit, what’s it like?

In terms of social culture, CMC has a large party/drinking culture. However, drinking is not required to party (I don’t drink/Have never been pressured to) and there are other activities to engage in if you do not like to party. We have an organization called CPB (College Programming Board) that plans events/excursions for students such as going to watch a play, going to a concert in LA, going to the Hollywood Bowl, etc. CPB acts as a sort of party-alternative.

I also want to add that many upperclassmen, having been at the school for several years, will stop going out as the excitement has worn off for them. For an underclassman though, especially a freshman, going out is the best way to socialize and form bonds.

In terms of finding your people I would say that there are so many different kinds of people at CMC that any student is bound to find others who will match their interests.

Thanks so much! Really appreciate your perspective. It’s a pretty small school, good to hear that there is still an openness and variety of students.

Thoughts on Claremont if you don’t party? Every place describes it as a party school.
