Clark Scholars 2015

Yeah, I remember last year I applied for RSI at MIT, and my classmate got rejected (he got emailed) but I never even got an email so I had to email them on the night of my birthday on St. Patrick’s day, and the director emailed me the next day to tell me I didn’t make it. I was at that point honestly more offended that I didn’t even receive an email while my classmate at least had. So a month later when I got rejected from Clark, I was actually thrilled that at least I’d gotten an email. So sad.

And I wish I could update. I mean, I haven’t accomplished anything except for getting into college, but I have some good college acceptances on my plate, which is the only thing that’s kept my hope alive for so long in regards to this program.

@spacelover17 Where were you accepted may I ask?

You mentioned Caltech earlier, did Caltech accept you?!

Haha yeah, you remember @Awesomenitrocity ! Yeah, Caltech accepted me  it was my dream so I was really happy. And I also got accepted to Princeton, UPenn, and Columbia (rejected from Harvard, Yale, MIT, and Stanford though, and wait listed at UChicago and Swarthmore). I got accepted to a few other places such as Case Western and Boston University, amongst others (drowned myself in 15 college apps haha).

Dayumm. Clark Scholars should take you in just to boast of your acceptances on their news page!

Wow! At least you’re gonna have a blast at Caltech.

Haha thanke guys! I’m going to Princeton instead though. Fin aid lol :stuck_out_tongue:

I mean I feel as a senior it’s a win-win situation for you. If you get into Clark you’re gonna have an amazing experience. If you don’t, you get to go to India. Either way you’re going to pton on close to a full ride.

Haha thanks! Are you guys juniors? I wonder how many seniors are applying. I sincerely wish you guys good luck, it would be so cool if we all got to go to Clark!

We have a 13 grade system here and I’m in 12th grade so I’m technically a junior.
Yeah it definitely would!

Quick question…does anyone remember the exact dates for the 2015 Clark Scholars program? When DS applied, we did not actually write down dates (thinking we could reference it later online)… and now cannot find it anywhere! I have searched the website, googled it, etc. and can find absolutely no info or link to the dates for the program.

Also, what is everyone doing as far as committing to other programs by their earlier deadlines, but without knowing the Clark Scholars decision? It appears to be quite the dilemma for our family and many of the other bright and gifted students following this and other summer program threads on CC.

It definitely is unfortunate that there is not a specific decision date that is firm like so many other programs and college admissions adhere to.

Got rejected, but did make the second cut lol life sucks

Thank you for your application to the Clark Scholars Program. We had a very strong applicant pool and while you did make the second cut you application was not considered for further consideration. I know this is a disappointment but I urge you to consider other programs and apply next year.

Sincerely.
Michael San Francisco

@Hotmamanearyou Did you just receive this email?

@Hotmamanearyou Also, would you mind revealing what your last name starts with? I know from past threads they normally send out messages alphabetically.

@4kids2graduate I’ve accepted my other program, which has a fairly high non-refundable deposit, but it’s lower than the 750 Clark will give me, so I’ll just go to Clark and lose the other deposit.

@literatechild Yea I just got this email like thrity minutes ago. Last name starts with L.
Wait isn’t there only one cut overall? So if I made both cuts how did I still get rejected?

Oh gosh now I’m really nervous

Now I’m like, email please don’t come. (if it’s true those who get rejected get emails first)

@Hotmamanearyou I am so sorry to hear that you did not get in…you sounded SO qualified!
