Class Competition

Hi, I have a question. My school regularly sends kids to the ivy league and top universities, and I noticed my class/grade is probably one of the most, if not the most, competitive classes our school has seen. Will colleges accept only a certain amount of kids from my school. Say 5 extremely qualified applicants from my school apply to cornell, will they all get in or will cornell (or any college for that matter) take only a certain amount? Is there a set quota per school?

Responses would be greatly appreciated, thanks

BTW my school doesn’t rank if that has anything to do with your response

Depends on the school. Many don’t consider school at all; I think a “set quota” would be unusual.

Depends how big your school is. Harvard will not take 20 people from one school (unless it is some place nationally known IDK) but 3 or 4 from the same school is possible. Definitely for Cornell, I have seen 5 or 6 from the same school.

I don’t think it would be a problem. I’ve not heard any example of colleges having quotas by school.

No set quota but a college doesn’t want to pull their freshman class from only a few schools.
