At my school we've got 8 blocks; AP classes take up 2 blocks, and we've got required gym+health+humanities that fills up three blocks of our schedule...All of you people posting like 4 APs as a sophmore, wow you're lucky, I wish I could fit that...
And as for IB, I've never even heard of that at my school...

My soph. schedule:

All Honors:
Humanities (required English + Economics)
Precalculus
Chemistry
Spanish 3
Gym/Health (required&unweighted)
AP Statistics (only AP offered for soph.)

ECs:
Soccer (Rec. and JV if I make it)
Math Team
will join Newspaper
might join Track
will run for Student Senate
& various honor societies, etc...
+I volunteer at the local hospital
and I'm going to take the chinese sat II.

yes I know it seems crappy, but I'm a top-ranking student at my school and that's about the most advanced I can get, though I should do better EC's.

How in the world can you be put in those classes in the 10th grade. In kentucky you have so many prerequisites to get into those classes that you have to wait until you're in 11 th and 12th grade .What's the deal.

Uh....
AP Euro=no prerequisites
AP French=at least 3 other years of French, which I've met
AP Bio=one year of bio (I was in a unique situation)

replying to nick, my courses have prereqs too but they're possible;
1. Precalc (need Algebra 2; I skipped a grade of math a few years ago so it works)
2. Chemistry (only need biology)
3. Spanish 3 (took Span1 in 8th gr.; took Span2 in 9th)
4. AP Stat (concurrently w/ precalc or precalc as a prereq).

I see before I moved to KY I lived in TN and the county I lived didn't allow people to skip classes and we didn't have spanish classes in the 8th grade and before you can take chem. You have to take earth/space science. But, i can say all of my classes next year are accel.
