I completed an intershipish thing, and it eliminated most of my confusion on this topic.

I want to study engineering on a professional track, probably civil or mechanical though electrical is also possible. If it is offered, I would strongly consider geological or petroleum engineering.

I’m interested in taking extra statistics courses, possibly leading to a minor.

Pakistanigir: Two years. . .and yes, I just take regular gen ed/req classes, but some classes I woudl really like to take are accessible to certain majors only. . . . I gotta choose a major soon though. . . :o

Well, I’m actually trying to graduate early, so I think I’ll have to solidify my decisions really early.

imagination, Yeah I’m definitely into Stat, that’s one of my more interesting math courses. But I’d rather do a minor in calc if I were to do it in any math.

And yesss AP Credits ftw, entering sophomore :)

You can’t really do a minor in calculus, but a math minor with mostly analysis electives would be the same basic idea. Though high school calc isn’t necessarily representative of college-level math.

I like stats because the material is interesting in and of itself while maintaining a great deal of practical utility.

I’m set on Computer Science. I’ve done some programming and think that practical CS is just fascinating. I have barely seen any theory, though. Big O notation and something about P and NP… oh no

Linguistics is also fascinating, but I don’t think I could ever find a job with a BA (or even PhD) in linguistics except with some military/homeland security department or a private contractor, which would be morally objectionable. (And even that’s assuming I knew enough Arabic/Pashto/some W Asian language spoken by Muslims.) So I’d like to tack linguistics on as a double major; I’ve been imbibing linguistics info for years anyway. Computational linguistics sounds good, can I do that without a MS?

I officially hate scrolling down in this thread.

I’m doing something in the social sciences or humanities. Right now it’ll probably be a dual degree in Political Science and International Relations with a minor in German if possible, but I’m also interested in Psychology, Anthropology, Linguistics, English, History, or other foreign language. (Wide spread I know. haha)

OP is an idiot for majoring in biomedical engineering and doing pre-med. Good luck getting into med school with your deflated GPA due to one of the toughest majors.

I’m same as Sophistry - CpE. Man, we have a lot in common b/w ECE and Craig Ferguson haha.

I’ll almost certainly major in neuroscience, and in 2016 publish a mildly popular novel (…among liberal arts college professors) that I will use as evidence to the insignificance of my life.
I’m typically very, very good at predicting about how my life will turn out. Self-fulfilling prophecies and such.

SLightManifesto is right. In med school GPA matters a lot. Anything less than a 3.7 and you have no chances. Biomediacal is a tough tough major. On top of the tough pre-med courses, get ready for a near-suicidal 4yrs.

As of right now, (this will most likely change) I wanna major in mathmatics, and if possible also major/minor in chemistry. They’re the two things I really, generally enjoy doing no matter how much they frustrate me. I want to do pre-med too though so we’ll see how this goes.
