Wants to march with MDB

absolutely. In fact, you should do all the calculations for them, and show them the math.

Interesting …So far there are 10 applicants. 9 OOS with 6 of those in Engineering.

I won’t speak for all OOS Parents…but Alabama is certainly making it easy (and enticing) to apply to this university and the engineering program. This isn’t the only school that has shown my DS “love”, but they have certainly shown the most. I try to be somewhat skeptical and take everything with a grain of salt, but it’s really hard for us at least, to find anything wrong with this potential landing place.

In wonder what the split on this CC forum is of OOS posters to AL posters? I’m guessing it is more OOS, because we rely on advice because we are so far away. If you were a more ‘local’ family, would you use CC as much? I don’t think so…I agree w/ the comment, tho, that UA makes it easy/enticing to apply! Roll Tide!

We are in state and use CC a great deal. DD was offered large merit scholarships to other schools both IS and OOS. When she attended the CBHP weekend, she was floored by the accomplishments and caliber of the other students there. She knew that she had found a similar peer group who was both fun loving and focused on their future path. She is looking forward to move in day next month.

Major: Business

Applying to the Honors College?: No

Career goal(s): Most likely want to double major in business and political science (which won’t be too hard because I will be coming into my Freshman year with 47 credit hours by taking the exact classes that are required to get a degree at bama through dual enrollment), and eventually go to law school to be a corporate lawyer.

Any else you’d like to mention: Roll Tide! I can’t wait to hear my decision and to see who is accepted so I can get to know class of 2019! :)

Totally forgot to put my gender on my last post Lol!! I am female.

When is the earliest you can get accepted to the University of Alabama? Haha I have absolutely no idea when my school would send my transcripts…my guidance counselor isn’t answering her email at all (I’ve waited weeks).

@thatmathyscigirl Judging from last year’s thread it seems like they start accepting very quickly. However, it really depends on how soon they receive your transcripts and test scores. D’s school will not be sending the transcripts until early September- so we will have to wait

UA seems to start making admissions decisions in August/September as they are currently processing some transfer applications for this fall and are preparing for the upcoming application season, The application opens up on July 1st to get an idea of who is applying and to work out any kinks in that year’s application. Later in the fall, students are sometimes accepted the same day their application and required documents are received, with most highly qualified applicants being accepted within a week. Rejected or waitlisted applications take longer to process as UA waits to see if students will submit improved test scores, fall semester grades, etc.

bump…

Career goal(s): I would like to go into law, but I haven’t decided what type of law I want to practice.

Any else you’d like to mention: I’m actually pretty nervous about my application. Mainly due to the F on my transcript after an unsuccessful semester in an online elective that made my GPA go from a 3.85 to a 3.51…

@anm2015 I’m not sure, but you have a good overall GPA. If you can add a solid ACT/SAT score you may be fine. Hopefully @mom2collegekids has some advice on how to handle this. Is it wise to contact an admissions rep with an explanation? She is very knowledgeable about all things Bama and so is @SEA_tide.

@InvolvedmomFL I made a 29 on the ACT in April and I’ll be retaking it in September. I’m shooting for a 30 or higher.
