Class of 2009

My point was.. be more courteous.. Being nice never hurts =). yeah.. this is kinda stupid so lets stop it.

Time for a new thread for Williams! This discussion really has nothing to do with Williams.

i agree! this is supposed to be a happy thread! yay williams

staticsoliloquay - if you don't have anything fruitful to add to the discussion, a suggestion: get out.
For everybody else, what are you writing for you essays? My application is almost complete, with the exception of the essay (my mind seems to go blank, whenever I think of writing one).

I already wrote one on biggest obstacle/ challenge, and no, I didn't write about immigration ( =) it's great topic.... but too trite nowadays).. the hardest part was not the topic, but fitting it in 500 words, as requested in the common application..

hello,
Before I go back to my math work :-(...I'd like like to say "yay"! You guys and gals are applying to Williams! I was a prefrosh host for both weekends, and had a great time while I was doing it. If you guys were here during the second weekend, you may have caught my "midnight tour" of campus.
I'm a part of the Asian minority. It appears that most of the people on this board are minorities of the Asian diaspora as well. One of the great things about Williams that I can not say about the other schools that admitted me is that by and large the Asians at Williams don't clique together.
Another great thing is its size. Many Asians in general it seems want to go off to big Ivy U.. That's great. However, if I had ended up at the ivy I was accepted to, I don't think that I'd be able to do all the things that I've been able to do here. Here, I've been an actor in a theatre production (yeah Frosh Revue!), helped start an Asian dance group, and also been active in the Asian Theatre Project, as well as serving on the boards of several minority groups. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to have dinner with one of the admissions officers here to discuss Asian-American enrollment. The week after Thanksgiving, the President of the College, Morty Schapiro, is coming to talk to the Minorty Coalition about how to better serve minorities on campus. Heck, my friend who can't go home for Thanksgiving has been invited to the Prez's house for dinner!
You guys should seriously consider coming here if you get in. Everyday, students make a difference, whether it be in the classroom or on the playing field. Also, a sixty million dollar theatre is going to be up and running by the time you guys get here, and the 25 million dollar new student union is on the way. It is amazing.
Speaking of amazing, I know that I've mentioned this here before, but Williams really does do a great job with financial aid. If you get in, you'll be able to graduate without a lot of loans and such.

Well, there you go. Have a great time. I look forward to seeing most of your faces next fall. ;-)

hey renja--what year at you at williams?

Most Williams candidates are reaches. Some are matches. Very few, if any, candidates can call Williams their safety school. Staticsoliloquy may be a match, but unlikely to be a safety for Williams.

I'm a freshman at Williams.
Eph 08

i know several freshmen at williams haha, maybe you know them...

Katkat rocks...williams should want her

I think my chance at Williams ED is dim....

dont say that!! be hopeful!

But I heard news that Williams is not going to admit Chinese students unless he/she is an athlete! It's unfair.

are you serious? lol.. I am korean.. but still

Williams doesn't practice admissions policies of that sort williamzhang, so don't worry about it.
