Class of 2010 Most Selective Ever

It appears that the overall yield rate was about 50%, and that the yield from the "regular" pool was about 40% - in each case, about the same as last year.

foggy:

one other option is to submit ED on Nov 1 and then switch gears and cram hard for whichever SAT test(s) he wants to improve and take on Nov 4. Results won't be available until end of Nov, but you could fax them to Hanover if they are appreciably better.

bluebayou , one question please...
I also retook my SAT I in November and I hope I have significantly improved the results from the previous sitting. I intend to send the scores with Rush Scores, but I have doubts they will arrive in time to be considered for ED. Can I really fax them? Even that unofficial result I get online from College Board? Thanks...

If the scores are a lot better, I'd print off the CB online report, add a cover page with your full name, address and SSN, with a short note indicating that official reports are on their way, and fax them to Admissions, attn to your regional rep. It definitely can't hurt, and it would be more timely than rush scores, which, I understand go by snail mail. You might check with Dartmouth to see if they even want "rushed" scores, since most colleges prefer to receive them electronically from CB.

Good luck to you and all other ED'ers.

btw: I'm just a parent of a '10 with no real insights.

10x..I'll definitely use your advice!

a 2180 is NOT a bad sat score.
