is the participation in clubs or social organisations compulsory while applying to us colleges? I mean will our non-participation in clubs spoil our chances of getting in?HELP!!!!!

First, unite in one thread..
Now, participation in a club or a social organization is totally up to you...it should never be done with the intention of ''college apps''...And, participation will always ''BENEFIT'' you..

@ manasm...first of all it's not sahil..it's shail...and yes...I am in Lafayette....Secondly if would be better if you could actually post in English coz that would open doors for more ppl to get involved....

NO!!!..they aren't doing anything like anything u have mentioned..and regarding aid..well of course doing ED does help a lot coz the college would have resources available to give to you..but then aid is usually need-based...so I don't necessarily think that u are liable to more aid just because you applied ED....Lafayette is a great college and if u do intend to apply here...sure..go ahead..u won't regret your decision.... Best of Luck :)

why the hell do you guys have two different threads? :D

ok sorry shail. any way thanx for the info. Actually my fren is planning to apply ed there. I love to stick with BOWDOIN

shail whats with posting thrice? :p

manasm: Bowdoin is a wonderful college! If you have good stats then I would say you will have no problem with aid either.

isaac, wht do u mean when u say that it should not be done with coll apps in mind. look at the wht r my chances forum and all u'll find is tons of volunteering . tell me that's not for coll app. everyone volunteers just for coll app nowadays.

so you are everyone? Then you have no chance at top colleges.

Why don't you guys join the International Class of 2012 thread??

Skunk: Ajay said it for me..:)..
