^You can register for a maximum of 3 SAT subject based test on a day.I believe you can still register for the SAT subject based to be held on oct. However you only have Lincoln as an available test centre unlike on the dec. date where you also have St. Xaviers.
So, I would advise you to register for the SAT's as soon as possible and not to take any risks.

@pomo101:I heard that no seat is available for OCT, all occupied!!...still you can register for the NOV one which is also going to be full soon..
I would advice(to those who have not registered yet) to register for NOV by tomorrow itself (I too will be doin that tomorrow)!!! kya pata kal hoo naa ho!!..And lets not take SAT I for granted, it counts a lot in mediocre colleges, esp when it comes to the financial aid thing(coz those colleges hate to waste their hard earned bucks in funding those whose english and basic mathematical reasoning skills are below the marks)...so master barrons, kaplan, PR, cliff..whatever you can...they prove to be of real help (esp if you are not a +2100 guy)...and for everyone of us, reading, reading and reading, thats the basic formula...CR prose tend to be similar to Hardy, Hemingway type, better if you read their works to Ludlum's or Agatha Cristie's.no offense please!!!

@neo-nietzshe: I registered for the SAT subject test and chose oct 4 as test date. I'm in the final phase so I just have to make payments. The test date still shows oct4 . Does this mean that some seats are still available for oct? I'm pretty confidnt it does.

well then may be what I heard was wrong...yea it means that seats are still available

@pomo101
Nope it does not necessarily mean that seats are available…if u r half way thru the registration n leave it before the final step, then the form continues to show oct as the test date even when the date is packed! It’s only if you start a new registration n the drop down bottom still has oct as an option that the seats are still available.

@hardcorefeminist

Well I started a new registration for the SAT I test and chose OCt 4 as the test date. I was then restricted from that only because I had chosen that very date for my SAT II test and not because the seats were all occupied.Or that was what the website said.

So any other way that I can find if seats are available? Or will I be notified only during the payment? And even if the seats for SAT reasoning tests are full, does it necessarily mean that seats for subject tests are occupied as well? Or are they both kept in the same basket?

^hey, i checked the website...it looks like no seats are available for oct SATI but u can still register for SAT2(only lincoln tho)...so u better hurry n do the payments or u might have to wait till nov!!!

^He's right you only have lincoln as an available test centre for the oct SAT II and its been like that for quite some time now.So, better hurry up otherwise u might have to wait till november and then u will only have a month gap between the two tests.......and u wouldn't want tht especially with all kinds of other deadlines looming around you.

Well I've made up my mind then. SATII in OCt and SAT I in Dec.
BTW, can you guys think of some drawbacks of a late SAT I. I guess I'm going as far as I can by taking the dec sat I. Too bad I can't apply for ED or EA that way. :(

^one of the few drawbacks as you said would be not being able to apply ED or EA.
The other major drawback would be not being able to sort out your collegelist on the basis of your score. So that way you might end up with a longer list of colleges than the rest and this means tht overall u might have to spend more time on ur applications(stuff like essays,etc.) which in turn means that you might not be able to spend much time in each individual application.
At the same time considering tht u don't finish your SAT I preparation by september then it might make things a bit more difficult for you towards Nov\Dec.

^ Now those are some drawbacks ! Perhaps I should opt for Nov sAT I. That will give me a months gap from the SAT II. That should be enough for prepn. Will that leave enough room for ED/EA?

pomo 101,
Where r u frm???Which coll?

@ cui bono
STXC.

Aani how's the SAT prepn goin on?

Guys should we go to any institutes to prepare or can we self study??

^Sorry for the GRAMMATICAL errors!

Well ,pomo101,which section??Only if U wanna disclose......PHYSICAL GROUP or BIO group?
Actually I too am from STXC

^I'm pretty sure I'll do it myself. Don't really think those institutions give you the money's worth. I still haven't registered for sAT I though. As for sat II , it's on oct 4.

DO NOT GO TO ANY INSTITUTIONS!!

Self-help is the best help. That applies to your SAT too.

Hehe I second skunk :)
