Mrinal,
Just a correction, I think it should read,
9% of 967 is 87 and 15% of 87 is 13.

hey, that is enrolment, not acceptance, i guess acceptance rate is higher than enrolment
(yield of caltech is 36%)

and 967 is total enrolment in all the four classes.(all the four years)

so every year’s number should be 1/4

I had to mention, the enrollment is 0.8%
The acceptances are 9-10%

OK, the freshman enrollment was 222.
9% were internationals, that is about 19.
Of that, assuming 15% Indians, that is 3.

Sorry for me previous assumption, skipped the second step.
The average is 3.
And the average acceptance rate is only 8% that is 610 out of 4859 applicants.

Quite right. Though this years decision letter say they had >5000 applications.
So 3 is about the number.

And one of them is Tizil’s friend from DPS-RKP .So who are the other 2???

1 other is aforementioned gsf winner and olympiad medallist

A girl in my class got in - but she’s a US citizen, so doesn’t count towards the 3. Anyway it is an approximation, might be more, might be less.

BU and BC - April 15th? Seriously?

Some colleges give late dates, and then end up releasing sooner as they get done quicker than they anticipated.

^ Only if they say “by ______”.

Do you remember Georgia Tech’s decision? They had this annoying pop-up that prevented applicants from checking before the designated time :p

Sometimes they release early on the same date as well. Though if universities don’t release decisions on the time they said they would, it tells me a lot about their punctuality and commitment.

Stanford released their REA results a week earlier back in December :p
