Violayinan, welcome!

@Saddisaw I will be CRUSHED if you don’t make it in! You deserve it so much! And you are SOOO qualified for it!

I really hope we can all make it because I feel like we would all become really good friends.

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all finding time to enjoy yourselves despite this waiting game! As a current student, not an official admissions representative, I can’t speak to the validity of the intricacies of the online site, but I’d do your best to stay calm, take deep breaths, and just wait it out. I know it’s easy to read into every little detail, but if you’re feeling concerned or anxious, remember nothing is official until you received the decision letter from admissions. In the meantime, I wish you all the best of luck and please don’t hesitate to message me with questions regarding student life/academics/whatever!

And remember…stay calm! Bryn Mawr students are in finals right now so I definitely understand your anxieties. But a slogan of Mawrter finals is self-care - so whether it’s taking a coffee break with a friend or a study intermission with netflix, find something that helps you relax and focus your attention elsewhere. There is a college for everyone, truly! I applied to Bryn Mawr on a total whim RD and it ended up being the perfect fit - so whatever cards you’re dealt, just remember it will all work out in the end :)

Thank you! It’s really comforting to have you here~

@englishivy, a previous poster said she spoke with a current Bryn Mawr student about the financial aid being updated on the site. That student said it’s a definite acceptance if your financial aid is updated. What do you think? I know there’s time for those who haven’t gotten updated yet, but if we have, do you think that student was right?

pika929, since I’m not an admissions officer I can’t confirm or deny that claim. When I applied a few years ago we just had a letter that popped up on the website. While that may have worked in her favor, just remember that this is one person’s experience and she is not an admissions representative.

So I guess then that we’ll only know when we read our acceptance emails…
While we’re waiting, I would like to pose a question to everyone: What colored unicorn would you like to have and why? and also, what mythical creature would you like to own and take care of and cherish and why?

Hah! I’ll have a red unicorn with a white horn!
But if I could have any mythical creature I’d take a baby dragon <3

A unicorn? ( Well, actually I never think about it since a unicorn is not so attached to my cultural background…) I’d like one similar to the one owned by Agnes in Despicable Me~ Cause it’s…cute?

Isn’t a quilin similar to a unicorn (in terms of properties)
Well I’ll take a giraffe colored one as the response

I prefer the subbed version, but the dubbed one came up first…
Sorry, I’m a recovered anime addict (oh gawd my middle school days were special)

Anime is good in small doses! I will have a sparkly silver unicorn and if I could have any mythical creature it would be a dragon :)

@BachiTrust Do you mean Qilin? That’s really a propitious character in Chinese myths~ Maybe it will bring good luck to you in your application~

PS pika= pikachu… showing my nerdy side…

Lol, I was pikachu for halloween
And I handpainted a pikachu fan, I also play pokemon profusely, and am currently raising an IV bred azumarill
And yes, I did mean qilin, idk, thats what they said in my history class in freshman year (I may have forgotten something, or a lot of things, from that class)

BachiTrust are you a Sailor Moon fan? Last year I went to ComicCon as Sailor Mars and my boyfriend was Tuxedo Mask :D

My gosh, I missed everything! My financial aid status still hasn’t been updated, I tried to do NaNoWriMo but got bogged down with other commitments, I would gladly let you guys read my work, and I would get a phoenix.

No, comic con scares me…
http://kricketcostumes.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/sailor_moon_man.jpg
And after going to one anime con, this is the reason why.

But actually no, I never really got into Sailor Moon, I was always more into psychological ones like Bokurano, Death Note, Liar Game and NGE and popular ones like Naruto, and FMA. Hetalia was nice because it was satirical.

@russgirl yes I am from the Ukraine; born in Novodnistrovsk I always wanted to visit Moscow but I used to live closer to Moldova than Russia so I never really had time to visit when I was little girl. Maybe if i get accepted to BMC then maybe I can finally go to Russia and practice my Russian!

@BachiTrust
Are these shows on TV you are talking about? I never heard any of them

Sailor Moon is more of a childhood thing for me lol, that guy is horrible I’m sorry you saw that. I used to love anime, as many do in middle school, but I participate only a little now and I’m more into sci fi/fantasy
On my second visit to Bryn Mawr, interestingly I saw live action role play happening on a gazebo. I think they were elves.

Sorta, they’re Japanese cartoons
I know, I like some stuff that isn’t exactly mainstream, so when I say my favorite band is TVXQ, I get some weird stares…
