@GSOMTmom – yeah, cocktail dresses! I didn’t see this at any other school.

cheeseheadmike - Congratulations on the acceptance, and phooey on the non-acceptance. Coastal is high on my son’s list due to the great audition experience he had, and that was at Unifieds. Please post the acceptance on the acceptance page (or here) so we can give you and D more kudos!

@raam1012 it came via USPS. To add a little salt, though, they emailed her their financial award letter today.

And believe me when I say that we are extremely grateful for the three acceptances. It’s just that money is going to be an issue as always.

Thanks. Three acceptances - that is grand!!! Congrats!

We have been told the NO school can make you commit before may 1. They are out of line. Take your time deciding!

See past threads re: Utah and Point Park on this topic (requests to commit prior to May 1). Keep in contact with the school. If it is still in contention and you need more time to consider all acceptances/financial aid offers, ask for it.

If a school is a member of NACAC http://www.nacacnet.org/studentinfo/Pages/Default.aspx … then they are supposed to follow the May 1 deposit deadline. However, some programs… even at NACAC member schools… will ask you to make a decision sooner than that.

Here are some links to discussions where this has come up in the past. Some of the threads are from two audition seasons ago, so the schools mentioned may have changed their practices, but the general information may still be relevant.

@CheeseheadMike – I think you can just email them and ask for an extension to May 1st.

Kids wearing stilettos and cocktail dresses are those that are Obviously not being coached as that goes against the direction from many audition coaches’ directives whom I’ve heard speak on the subject. Either that or they are ignoring their coach’s advice.

Sorry its a rough one cheeseheadmike. Glad she has 3 acceptances!!

MTorBust, be sure to keep an eye on the weather. That area along 90 is one of the worst in winter!

Oh my. I bet I can guess what group that was. Don’t let it intimidate your kids!

Thanks Alwaysamom, we are flying in. Hoping my son gets a good vibe there, the price is very alluring. Lol

Hey no trashing western New York weather lol. MtorBust I agree about the cost.

Needing some good news so here is some (not acceptance related My daughter will be turning 18 while we are on our trip to NYC. This trip is what she wanted for her birthday. Our friend told me yesterday that she got her tickets to see Phantom and Les Mis and back stage tours of both!!! My daughter is going to die…

What fun! I am taking my D to Les Mis in May for her 18th, too. Have a wonderful time!

On another note…I have heard of offers coming come after May 1st when the schools find out the real deal on acceptances? Anyone have any insight on this?

And this site has really been a lifesaver! Reading all of these posts has helped me get through this insanity. And what praytell will I have to obsess over in a few weeks when the decisions will all be done lol?

There’s ALWAYS a new obsession to be had, @futbrodmom!!

Bisouu- Broadway therapy always works! Make sure you get her one of those vinyl broadway bags with all of the logos on it! Hang in there!!

And go eat at Ellen’s Stardust Diner and see where our kids will be working in 5 years lol!

I have a daughter at Ohio Northern and she is very happy with the program. They have small classes and people are getting jobs. There are people in the program that have chosen the program over other top schools because of the people, and the scholarships. (they want to save the money for NYC someday) The students are getting jobs and are from as far as California and Texas. My daughter likes to dance and was disappointed that Rider just canceled their dance call when she was at unifieds. They bring in directors and master classes. She is happy she chose ONU
