rcpurple-Do they take lots of dance at ONU? My daughter was accepted there. I ask because it seems that some programs have much more dance than others.

@futbrodmom - after May 1, some students who have been wait listed may receive acceptances as other students decline their spots. However, a No isn’t going to turn into a Yes, and I’ve never heard of anyone who didn’t hear anything one way or another until after May 1.

@cheeseheadmike. Sometimes that is for the theatre department itself or for scholarship money. Last year two of my D’s schools asked for mid April commits and we just asked for extensions. We explained we needed to visit first and see the complete FA package before we could decide.

When I got home last night I read the letter for myself. It just said that “we have a large wait list and would appreciate an answer by mid-April”. It was not a demand. We are actually driving to the school tonight so that D can spend the day with MT faculty and students tomorrow.

On another note, D took the rejection from CCU in stride. She said “Oh well, at least I’ve got three offers that I like.” Maybe Mom and I take the rejections too personally. This whole process entails a heavy emotional investment, as you all know.

@cheeseheadmike…I didn’t see you on the accepted threads. Who has your D heard from?

Just had a mini heart attack - sitting in a meeting got a call from 212 area code…but didn’t leave a message. I called back and it was PACE but from the fine arts - art department chair asking if D and I had any questions about the program etc. I proceeded to tell her we were waiting to hear from MT. She said I wonder why I have this in my pile this should be in MT. So, now what does this mean…is there some hope that D is getting into PACE, or just a mistake? I have emailed Amy so we will see but it was very exciting for a few moments. Now D has several great offers so we are ok but Wow, it would be great to add PACE to the list.

WOW!! Can’t wait for an update, @tarheelmtmom!

Ack, stressful @tarheelmtmom! Keep us posted!

That call would be exciting but frustrating!
March Madness has a different kind of meaning for all of us, doesn’t it?

HAAA!!! Good one, dramamom!

I saw on the acceptance thread that Pace is sending out their letters…have chewed off what’s left of my nails. D was accepted academically a while ago and got a huge scholarship…

acceptance thread? where is that?

I have to applaud all CC posters today for keeping me occupied and neglecting work for an extra half hour this morning. Keep up the good work!

Clarification - I know where the acceptance threads are, but I don’t see anything about Pace sending out their letters today. Is there another acceptance thread that I am unaware of?

LOL AsstToTheMT I agree I keep checking for updates on everyone. We dont have anything coming til the end of the month but love following everyone else!!

Raam, it’s in the Pace forum, Rejections thread.

OOOHHHH!!! Thanks GSOMTMom :)

Anyone waiting on Hartt? Nice lady in admissions has told me that letters have started to go out…

I don’t know about all of you but I am really stressing about this financial part of this. I stupidly listened to someone who said all the private schools give out more scholarships. That may be but not in this field. Was completely shocked

NewYorkSon - I AM IN THE SAME EXACT position. I am so mad at myself. PLUS when I used cappex I thought the academic scholarship I knew my S would receive from Rider would be taken from that estimate…it was already included. As it stand we are 15K per year away from where we need to be with that school, I am losing sleep.
