you probably did but i guess you could be accepted for the spring session
You won’t be able to get into the dining/housing app until you actually accept admission, so it will not let you in at this point.
Is it weird that I can get into the housing app?
@Juggerz no. I’m priority admit and I haven’t accepted yet but I can get into it too
For Priority applicants, a lot of people who had the dining agreement were admitted
Got it
Got the housing and dining agreement! I’m really hoping that means we hear today (and that I get accepted)
That’s Early Decision where you can only apply to one college.
Early Action and Priority are not binding and you are allowed to apply to multiple schools under these. I applied to both UMD and UMBC Early Action/Priority, along with several other classmates and it was definitely allowed. Unlike Early Decision, there is really no drawback to applying priority or EA.
decisions are up - my S, OOS from MA, in for Fall! Very happy here. Good luck to all of you!
Im in for spring, i dont understand what freshman connection is though?
Freshman Connection allows you to start in the fall if you’d like, but you are limited to certain class sections that occur in the late afternoon or early evening. You are eligible for housing, though if you’re interested, you need to get your request in asap as it’s limited. Other than that, it’s identical to just coming in the fall as a regular student. Before, Freshman Connect kids lived on certain floors of the off-campus apartments like The View (very close to campus).
ok, how about financially, how is it different? Do I have to pay money on top of the regular tuition for this? or is it still the same tuition amount?
Got in for fall! So excited right now! Just gotta figure out how to pay for it now…

I was accepted for Spring semester. I applied as a business major. Does anyone know if this mean I was accepted to the business school as well? The bottom of my acceptance letter says “Major: Letters and Sciences
Advising College: Letters and Sciences”. Is this basically saying my major is undecided?
^i got the same thing as your aibicidiei
is freshmen connection a bad thing? like do other students look down upon freshmen connection kids. that is what scares the most.
@AIBICIDIEI
No, you were not accepted to the business school.
If you have letters & sciences at the bottom of your acceptance letter then that means
- You applied undecided
- You didn’t make it into your major (most common ones people didn’t get into seem to be engineering or business, which are both Limited Enrollment Programs) and were placed into Letters & Sciences as undecided
You can always transfer into the business school, so don’t let that upset you or anything
@moon1light9path7 Another poster on the UMD forum wrote some helpful posts about freshman connections. From what they say, no one will know that you were in the freshman connection program once it’s over and no one really cares if you were in it.
Got into the business school for the fall. Won’t be attending but I hope this opens up a spot for someone else!
hey @viking710 what were you stats? like what was your gpa (weighted and unweighted) and SAT/ACT score? I applied for fall business school but i got freshmen connection and letters & sciences
