Congratulations to all!!

Do you know what the numbers next to the kids’ names means?

@lkg4answers The numbers represent what they plan to major in.

@BunnyBlue thanks! That makes it all the more interesting to look through. Is there a key somewhere for all the different majors?

@prm123 you’re the best! I’ve been searching for it all day yesterday! I found my daughter’s friends in other schools made it too! Thank you so much!

I need some help. My DD school says they didn’t get a password for her. How does she get the info to log in?

@Icky19 contact National Merit they will help

Has anybody tracked down the full list for NYS?

her school needs to create an account with national merit. they should have written instructions on how to do that. if they can’t figure it out, the school should call national merit. the deadline for the next stage is october 9th fyi.

@3scoutsmom
it looks like when my son completes his application, it is then available to the school so that THE SCHOOL can complete it and submit it by 10/9. is that correct?

can they do anything prior to my son completing the application or do they only begin when he finishes the application?

@2HelpOut - We are in WA state, too, and haven’t heard a word about it from our school, no reply from counseling office, and nothing in local news.

If you happen to be in Lake Washington school district, they have a press release with list of names on their website. Haven’t seen anything else for the Seattle area yet.

I suppose I’ll call NMSC just to confirm. In the meantime, if anyone sees the WA state list, please share.

That’s how it is at our school. The kids are giving log in info to complete their app, the parents have to complete their online permission part then our school checks to makes sure both parent and child have completed ‘brag sheets’ (required by our school before any recs will be written, then the school submits the completed app to national merit. NMSC has been known to work with kids if the school is dragging their feet.

Ohio full list anyone?

My 2 daughters took it that day and one qualified still. The other is commended. The only other student who qualified from their school missed one math question.

List for New York state, anyone?

@border1218, the two parts can be done in parallel. The school will be the one to submit to NMSC when all parts are done. You will be able to see in your portal when everything is complete.

I called National Merit (they were SO nice), and my son made the cutoff for Georgia! We knew he would (223 vs. a cutoff of 220), but it was nice to hear it directly.

Still NOTHING from his school.

@Jbeckner I can’t believe how many schools have not told the students yet! Our school hasn’t said anything either.
