soooo quiet… i emailed the GC at our school yesterday to ask if certificates had arrived by mail … she didn’t reply (very large school, so it’s not uncommon she doesn’t reply or replies days later) … we had 70 NM semifinalists in the fall (of a class size 1380 students) … which means they have to plan a time to pull them from classes to award the certificates…makes me think even if they come in the mail today, it won’t happen today … boo.
I suspect our school might save the certificates for senior awards night. I’m not hopeful that we’ll hear anything until next week, but I’m hoping that someone on this board will get news today.
We live in WI and my principal emailed this morning and said he hadn’t received anything yet.
Very few NM kids from our public HS pursue NM based full rides. We are in southern California so a lot of kids look at the 50% tuition at USC. Most seem to be high achieving kids who are applying (and getting accepted) to top schools.
Principal just notified me that he received word that my ds is finalist. We live in WI.
@drxxpresso, S2’s school definitely holds them until senior awards night.
Does anyone know where national merit is located and where they mail the notifications from?
Evanston, @twinmommy.
Congrats @Libby1901.
Still no letter here (NY).
Congratulations @Libby1901 ! That’s great.

Still nothing in TX… congrats @libby1901
Yep. I’m thinking Monday or Tuesday for Texas.
Still waiting in Florida.
@twinmommy They are just outside Chicago
Seems like mail is super slow!!
Nothing in KY as if today. Will they send anything to our kids? Our school does t make a huge deal out of this due to fact they never had a national merit child.
They send a letter to your home about a week after the certificate is sent to the school. Their website says home letters will be mailed on February 10.
If your school has never had one then they should make a HUGE deal out of it! Congrats to your child on being the first!
Congrats @Libby1901!
Nothing here in OR either
