Same here!
@MTheatreKid Portal
Just looked at my friend’s portal. His says “hold” after “audition scheduled” and has a letter attached with the hold.
Same with my friends! ^^ what does that even mean.
Literally just off the plane from Michigan, post-audition and reading all this, pulse quickening as not able to check CCM page until home. Then nothing, no change - hasn’t been any since completion of NYC Unified. Same wording as everyone else has. Pulse decreasing.
But @boatmom - big congrats to your son on Montclair!
Just got my invitation for Michigan on Friday!
Audition invite?
Received 3 rejections all today. Kind of weird to see a school you had on your mind and tried to imagine going to school there and now they’re just poof gone and out of the picture.
I’m so sorry to hear that, @ParachuteBoy. You just have to remember what I’ve told myself throughout this entire process that everything truly happens for a reason and you will end up where you belong! It may hurt right now but its all leading you to where you are meant to be!
Thank you! I’m trying to think of it as their loss but it’s tough. Unfortunately a lot of the schools that got back to me were lottery type schools so I had very low odds anyway it just sucks those came back first. I keep telling myself that I only need one acceptance, while it’s nice to have choices I only applied to schools I love.
How exciting to see all the activity on CC today! Congrats to all who are getting good news. Ready to fast-forward to March!!!
@ParachuteBoy do you have a few safety schools? At least one that you feel comfortable with?
Yes. I was accepted to a safety school in December that I love and am waiting on another non-audition school. I also auditioned for many other schools and the 3 that rejected me today were all top tier programs so I wasn’t expecting much anyway.
The next month is going to be tough but it’s all something to get used to for a career in this field. I’ve lost roles in high school and similar things so I have a thick skin already. I think it’s a nice advantage I have over people who always got the lead in their high school show and aren’t used to how to take rejection. Courtney Reed, who originated princess jasmine on Broadway posted a picture online of two piles of audition sides. One was from the ones she got rejected from and the other accepted. She said she gets rejected after auditions over 80% of the time and now she’s staring as a Disney princess on Broadway
@ParachuteBoy - my last post was made prior to seeing yours, so it seems terribly insensitive - not my intent. Sorry to hear about the news you received. I think many of us are starting to have some anxiety about the reality of this process. A ‘no’ or a lousy audition experience can hurt, but the sting will go away. The numbers and odds can be overwhelming, but there are so many success stories after initial NO(s) so hang in there, the right school will happen for you!
Congrats @allthatjazz, by invitation do you mean acceptance? That was fast! You must have been celebrating all weekend! Did you hear via email?
@ParachuteBoy Hang in there, as you said you just need one! I’ve been braced and stressed over the next part of this process after seeing what many of my friends went thru over the past 3 years, and all of these kids are thriving and loving their college experience.
Are applicants being notified of acceptances, rejections and wait-list via email, mail or on the portal? I wasn’t expecting her to hear anything for another week or two but so many people have been posting here and on FB so we are getting anxious. Fingers crossed for all of you!
Where have people been hearing from?
Received “hold” email from CCM yesterday - auditioned in Chicago. She is ecstatic! Any idea how many are getting this letter?
katiebean - we know people who have heard from U Arts (acting), SMU (after a state thescon), Rockford, Minnesota (about callbacks), Rider, Penn State, and Relativity. Also know of a few that have received informal word from a few others (no letters yet - but either told something during audition or got a phone call/email expressing strong interest in them.
