My daughter got a call from Pace this afternoon. It looks like several were called today!
congrats @stmama! That is wonderful. I read on a past post (from a couple years ago) that the formal letters are sent after all auditions but some of the directors from the different tracks make some calls while others may not. Good news for some - others need to wait and not lose hope! Pace’s final weekend of auditions is this weekend - so all should hear within a week or two. Good luck everyone.
@PickALittle My S received his Rider acceptance (acting, not MT) via a letter Tuesday. He auditioned at Chicago Unifieds. Hang in there with the wait - fingers crossed for you.
Hi did pace call her cell or your home? Just trying to figure out the process. Very nerve wracking ! Thx!!
^ In my son’s audition cycle Amy Roger’s called his cell.
I think all the Pace MT auditions are complete. The other programs are holding auditions this weekend but not MT. So that may be why the MT kids are getting calls?
We got a call on the home phone around 4:00 from Pace (according to caller ID) but when I picked up the call the receiver was dead because it had been left out of the cradle too long. Now I’m going to obsess about whether It was “the call” or just someone inviting us to an accepted students podcast or something. D did get a BFA MT acceptance today though, the first one, from SUNY Buffalo. She could be very happy there since we have tons of family there so she is happy.
I have a question for all of you who were accepted last year or already this year: did the schools that accepted you stay in contact with you after auditions? I just wonder what the experience is like and if that is what happens between auditions and acceptances. Do they email often? Have students call? Tell you how great you are? I’m not really getting that lol and I’d really like some candid answers. I’m particularly curious about Texas state, elon, cmu, michigan, penn state, BW, tcu, ccm, rider and pace. Thank you!
Also about FSU and wright state. Thanks again!
For anyone accepted to Drake - how did they notify you?
@mtgirl225 I think it depends on the school and I don’t have much knowledge of the programs you asked about. I know my daughter has heard nothing from Pace or CMU (for acting). She has heard from others that expressed continued interest and/or want to know if she is still considering them. I truly believe each school has a different method.
@mtmamma2020, D received a phone call. Something in the conversation made her think they just started notifying people today.
@mtgirl225, I agree that each school is probably different. It is interesting that in all three cases of d’s acceptances, she received email communication from the program director and/or a current student in the program. I have no idea if that is typical though. I would think that any communication is a good sign, but I don’t think a lack of communication should be interpreted as something bad at all!
That’s kinda what I thought! On the flip side, has anyone out there gotten into a program (esp. One off the above list) where they heard NOTHING between the audition and the acceptance?
My daughter got into U arts and Southern Methodist for acting and hadn’t heard a word until receiving the letters of acceptance That said, we were very happy when some other schools did reach out to her. We will take all the good signs we can get
@mtgirl225 I didn’t hear anything from Rider between my audition and my acceptance (for Theatre Performance, not MT. Not sure if that makes a difference). It was only about 2 weeks though, so maybe I didn’t hear anything because the time was pretty short.
Two years ago, son heard nothing between audition and acceptance from Otterbein and Coastal Carolina…and it was agony for me, lol. There was a long stretch between Unifieds and March (with many rejections in-between) and then he was accepted to both the same day
Nothing from BW from when she was wait listed until April when she got an email asking if she had committed to another school, or was she interested in remaining on the wait list. She asked to stay on the wait list, and Vicky called her the next day. (I know they don’t call initial admits, but they do call WL)
UARTS - no word between audition and acceptance. Otterbein - email that she is still in the running - Dr. John says Otterbein is notifying next week (I don’t recall how they have notified in the past). Other than notifications for callbacks, crickets.
@artskids when D audition for Otterbein and when did she receive the email that she’s still being considered?
