Class of 2020 (sharing, venting, etc)

thank you! I auditioned in Chicago, very eager to hear. I’m sure your D is not alone. Being a highly reputed program with an ideal location, and the tuition is the complete package. I bet they had record applicants this year. With the building alum like Rob McClure, it’s going to be one of the most sought after schools soon enough. Love the school, hate the odds.

Just a point of reference. Rob McClure’s terrific and Montclair looks like a really amazing program, but he left there without graduating. I’m not sure how long he was there (he was already a recognized talent prior to Montclair though). But even without him as an actual alumni, it still looks like a super program!

Hi, has anyone heard from TCU, CMU, Michigan or Northwestern? Do they let you know either way?

also Florida State and Roosevelt. Thank you!

Roosevelt is on spring break next week and has, historically, released acceptances shortly after that.

From past years, Michigan is typically mid-March and CMU late March.

@mtgirl225 Michigan says mid-March. D says someone called CMU and the rep said the decisions will come out at midnight on March 25 (second-hand, don’t know for sure but they typically notify late in March), Northwestern will notify on either March 31 or April 1, and I know nothing about TCU (that seems to be a mystery to many on here), Florida State or Roosevelt. I’m wondering also about Wright State. Anyone have info? Thanks!

Michelle from Florida State posted in another thread that they would be finalizing decisions today/tomorrow and should be sending out MT letters on Friday this week. I know in past they have also made calls to accepted students around same time.

@mtgirl225 School DO let you know either way. You will get an admissions decision at every school to which you have applied. For many schools, results are not out yet.

@soozievt … well, they should let you know either way. Emphasis on “should”.

Technically, we’re still waiting on results on D’s prescreen from Baldwin Wallace. =))

Yup! And we’re still waiting for a final decision from a school that never got back to us … but those are mistakes, I think. Human error. And infrequent…

If you never hear back, yes, I think that is a mistake and a call should be made to the school. Very sorry this has happened to some people.

Just saying that the general procedure IS to notify all applicants of admissions decisions.

Last year CMU decisions went out on March 27. Michigan started making acceptance phone calls around March 10-11. Florida State was early March. I don’t remember precisely on TCU but I think they did a rolling admission.

@HappyDancer98 - WSU is currently on spring break, so probably no decisions going out this week. That said, I have heard of two students (1 male, 1 female) being accepted at the last February audition.

Does anyone know if straight acting works the same as MT? For instance, will Michigan straight acting make calls around March 10-11 as well? Will Pace straight acting operate the same way MT will?

Hello, I am a newbie here, my daughter actually graduated and went to Baldwin Wallace as the other MT - Music Therapy - as her major. Well, early in her 2nd semester I got a text saying she was going to call me about something important and I knew exactly what it was, and I was right - she wanted to see if she could transfer into Musical Theater. She auditioned last weekend and was very happy with her audition (I was so sorry I couldn’t be there!). She will be coming home Saturday, staying with her older sister in Boston until Monday, and she should know by next Thursday whether or not she got in. She really loves the school and said if she doesn’t make it in, she will stick with music therapy, but I’m so hoping she gets in, and I know she is, too.

Because of the structure of the MT program, if she does get in, she’ll be in the class of 2020. So here I am.

I guess I was mistaken. I totally thought Rob McClure graduated from MSU. They do still have a nice alum list, not that it is necessarily meaningful for a program, especially one that’s been building recently. I have heard that they’ve been making some MT (acting is separate) decisions from NY unifieds and fall on campus auditions this week. There seems to be nothing to hear yet from Chicago as well as the fact they have two March on campus auditions to get through. There are so many people.

Nothing like getting the mail and getting 2 finalized and very large scholarships for schools D isn’t artistically accepted to yet. Blargh.

@stagedoormama “YET” is the key word.

One can only hope!!
