Wayyy too many times, I’m sure!! Unless I lock my phone in a desk drawer or something. I figure afternoon as well.
HAHA how wonderful if it was 8am? I predict around 5 or 6pm though. Idk why.
Morning would definitely help everyone’s productivity tomorrow!
Fingers crossed for all of you awaiting BW decisions!
Reading the thread from last year - notifications came by snail mail which was agonizing! Thankful they will be emailed yay.
Agreed. This wait is awful. And it isn’t like I don’t have other things to be doing!
Thinking about all of you!! Hang in there!!!
IT WILL ALL BE OKAY
what is happening with Pace? I still haven’t heard anything and I’ve heard that everything from acceptances to rejections to redirections have been given.
Nothing from Pace here, either.
Nothing from Pace here.
Nothing from Pace here either!
Soooo I got an acceptance today from Samford University (here in Birmingham, AL) for BFA MT! (Looks like even a talent scholarship!) It feels great after 3 rejections last week. Wishing luck to all the BW people today!!
BW email came – we got a no.
@abmt16 congrats what is your audition experience with that school? My D saw them at the SETC last week… Curious . I think she talked to them but can’t recall
sorry @mtmamma2020
@theaterwork It was great honestly! They’re a private Christian school (Baptist) so that is kind of what to expect. They are a top notch classical music program though, so the BFA MT came out of that and the more classically based Theatre BA. I had to sing an art song for my audition as well as one song from MT rep. (The art song can be in English though, I chose Italian) Two monologues, one pre-1800s and the other contemporary. Dance was a jazz combo and tap combo, but they stressed that it didn’t play a large part. It was more so for placement if you got in the program. I really enjoyed my day there, and the staff really cares about the kids a lot. You learn a lot on top of “normal” BFA MT stuff, such as opera, piano, etc. You actually have to pass a standard of piano they have before you graduate, so that they know you can accompany yourself in the real world. No performer usually has $100 to throw at an accompanist for an hour. (That’s their philosophy at least) If you can, look into it and audition! It’s a top choice for me so far! Beautiful campus as well, and the academics are crazy good too which is a bonus.
Does it seem as though it’s taking longer this year than last year ? Anyone?
It takes forever if you’re in the middle of it. Every year.
BW is a no, but one of my good friends got in and I’m really happy for her!
