What data do the students really need? Acceptance rate is so low, it takes a miracle to get in. I, for one, am happy about any steps taken to tone down the college admissions fever. Things have gotten out of hand. The rash of suicides in the high schools near Stanford has the CDC involved in the investigation. Whatever can be done to restore a semblance of sanity is desperately needed. I hope other schools follow suit and withhold information. I would particularly love to see college rankings abolished.
For the benefits of stanford and applicants, release the early admission info next year!
For class of 2020, the early numbers were 745/7822 = 9.5%.
Based on the great western regression of the past data on admit rates/yields, the early numbers for this year should stay within neighborhood of the numbers above with r square of one (did mentally ).
Good luck to all class 2022 early applicants.
