I finished up junior year with:
GPA: 4.0 (high school doesn’t weight–received all A’s)
SAT: 1500
2 APs junior year (Stats and Human Geo) (high school doesn’t allow students to take APs until junior year)
Scheduled to take 3 APs senior year (Calc AB, Physics, World History)
OOS
Anyone want to take a shot at my chances for admission into UF accounting?
yeah you more than likely will get accepted. no cap
Are you in state? If so, do not forget to do the work necessary to qualify for your bright futures scholarship. Attending UF without the cost of tuition makes it even better. Your scores are well above the minimum required for acceptance. Spend time on writing solid essays and your admissions shouldn’t be in question.
From the statistical/grade/scores side of things, you are as close as it gets to a lock. However, UF uses holistic admissions and wants well-rounded superstars. You need to also showcase what you have done outside the classroom such as extracurricular activities, volunteering, part-time work, leadership, etc. And if you truly want to go to UF, be sure to demonstrate interest. Yield protection is a real thing in college admissions.
Also, UF does ask you to list a major but it will have little impact on your application.
@GatorDad305 how does one demonstrate interest besides official visiting in their junior year? My daughter has done an annual
Leadership conference at UF 9-11th grades . Assuming that shows interest ? I know we discussed this before but what are other ways to show interest ?
Thanks!
I am an out-of-state applicant.
My gpa had me worried based on what I read online for the freshman profiles (4.3-4.6)
@4Family4 UF recalculates your GPA, giving you a 1 point bump for AP/DE classes and a .5 bump for honors classes. UF only looks at academic classes for this recalculation. If you can calculate your “UF GPA,” then folks on this forum will have a better ability to “chance” you. If you have all As and have taken some honors and AP classes, then you are likely to be within that 4.3-4.6 lane. However, if your school does not offer a lot of honors and AP classes, UF will also look at how you compare to the other kids in your school. Some schools don’t offer any AP classes but kids from those schools still get admitted to UF.
