She just has to call admissions and they do it over the phone.

She calls and asks to be reconsidered for DUS + Summer session.
(As DUS, she’d be taking the same classes as Smeal students:
Without summer:
Fall
- Math 110, unless she got credit for Calc AB with a score of 4 or 5
- English 030 if she got a 4 or 5 on AP English Lang, English 015 otherwise
- PSU 006: Seminar for future business majors
- Foreign language 1, 2, or 3 depending on level achieved in HS
- Micro-economics, unless she scored a 4 or 5 on AP Econ
Spring - Foreign Language 3 if not completed in the Fall
- Statistics, unless she scored a 5 on AP Stats
- Intro to Management
- Gen ed class
With summer session “LEAP”, she can take Econ or Calc in a small, 24-student class instead of a big lecture hall (and avoid the weedout that often occurs), and take 1st year/2nd semester classes during her 1st semester.

this might sound like a dumbish question, but is it possible that TO buttons could disappear tonight because technically decisions would be released at midnight so it would count as monday?
I doubt it because it means they’d have to be working today. Which they could be I don’t know. My assumption will be no one will hear until Tuesday and Wednesday

To be a bit more optimistic: right before the deadline there are more “drops” so don’t stay up for it, but do check tomorrow during the day.

Good point.
Students who completed AP English Lang, AP Calc AB, AP Stats, AP Econ, and Foreign Language 4 are already ahead for their entrance to major requirements and get to skip weedout courses so it’d certainly be beneficial to them. I don’t know whether students who have completed these courses have an advantage in admission to UP, it’d be interesting to know indeed.

I can confirm my student will have completed:
Calc
Econ (macro & micro)
AP lang (+ DE 6 credits ENG courses)
4 yrs FLanguage
Admitted to Smeal UP Fall can see how just getting stats and intro to mgmt with other gen eds can keep one on track to graduate in 4 yrs which is an important stat schools are also looking to maintain.

She’d take ENG030, SCM 200 (or 200H: applied statistics), Foreign Language 3 (and be done!), MGMT 301 and PSU 006 (the seminar for future business majors) and be done with her 1st year requirements at the end of her Fall semester!

@mlk75 Google earch “Penn State”, your major name, and “Suggested academic plan” and you should find it. The other way is to look at the undergraduate bulletin for the major you are looking for and it will have the suggested plan for each semester.
