Why is this thread so inactive? What about ED 2 decisions? NYU?
Anybody got into Whitman or St Olaf?
Iâm not from Nepal, but Iâm also an international student who needs full-ride to study there. I was rejected from both schools as well as my friends from different countries. I guess they do not have enough funds and do not actually give full rides, they prefer to give scholarships to those who can pay at least 20-35k $ and higher.
I was rejected from olaf.
Exactly,I was also rejected by St.Olaf.Now,I donât have much hope from other colleges.
To be honest,I never thought I would hear a straight rejection from St.Olaf.I had good ECAâs,good stats ,good essays (I think) but when I opened the application status ,I was just blank for second.
Just hoping to get into any college now.
P.S my seniors with mediocre STATS and ECAâs had got in with a very good financial aid.

Canât relate more than this. I had a pretty good SAT score( about 40 more than St.olafâs 75th percentile), I thought Olaf was my sure shot coz one of them from RBS got in last year with mediocre stats with decent finaid( although I donât know the exact amount). Also, having read that international students might not get full but will have to pay 5-6k USD each year in their finaid website, I thought finaid wouldnât be a reason Iâll get rejected considering I mentioned a little more on my ISFAA. But, idk where I messed up or what went wrong with my application. I have plenty of decisions left but Olaf was the easiest to get into among all of them. So, in short, Iâm f**ked.
This year, itâs super competitive, because of the test-optional policy.

Ikr, people with mediocre stats actually got into pretty decent schools last year. Idk whatâs happening this year. Prolly the test-optional policy. I guess most of us will have to settle for our safeties. But even safeties seem to be tough to get into this year.
