class size and professors

I know it must be different per department, so how are Wesleyan class size and professors per department? i mean i know i can just look up "strongest departments" (which i did!) but that doesn't help as much.

I haven't taken a class is all departments but I have taken a 15 person Seminar and the largest class on campus, the President's film studies course(rolls about 250- 300 deep). I can tell you that if you're worried about accessibility, there is no issue at Wes. I'm a soph and a prospective History/ Government double major but I've also taken Math, Physics, Economics, and film courses. Classes are capped at around 30 or less unless your talking an intro Science, econ, or film. But you'll never be faceless, even in the large classes. I only talked to Michael Roth(the president) once about a paper and he still says hello to me around campus, I've also played pick up basketball with him.
My International Politics professor came here from teaching at Cal and he is still excited about our "tiny" 30 person class, he knows all our names and engages you pretty much anytime he can. He loves it but the class is at 9am so we're not always so receptive. Professors here are engaging in class and like small classes, but if you go to office hours, most of them will fawn over you. Frankly, Wesleyan is not the place to come if you're a fan of hiding in the back of the room, there are oral presentations in nearly every class, even upper level Science and Math. Professors genuinely want to hear what you have to say.
Not every professor is a life changer, if fact I've had two I'm not so fond of but that's a personal preference. I love my classes, the atmosphere, and the professors.

just to note- even in large classes (like intro bio) which have over 100 students, the professors will still likely learn your name. I had intro bio 2 years ago, never went to the prof's office hours, and he still knows my name now when I see him in passing.
