So, I’m trying to get into a class that’s full, and required for my major. There must have been a lot of students trying to take it this semester since they have added another section with a different professor teaching it, and usually there’s only teacher that teaches that class. The added section has only like 30 students with a capacity for more students and it’s at the same time as the main one, while the main one has 100+. The thing is, I really want to get into the full one because I like the professor that teaches it, and it’s my last semester so i can’t take that class with that teacher again. I feel like I’ll be added to the second class that’s not full with the not so good professor and it’s a hard class too. But if I stated my case would I have a chance of getting into the full one and how should I state my case so I have a better chance of getting into it?
If they’re at the same time, then you have no case. You can’t just say you like the other professor better- their class is full. Sorry, that’s just the way it works.
If people drop the class at the beginning of the semester, it may be possible to switch to that one.
The other possibility is to sign up for the less preferred class and go to the more preferred class…as long as the syllabus indicates that attendance isn’t mandator and you keep up with the hw/quizzes etc.
