classes at nyu ?

Hello,

Can you take classes at NYU if you go to Columbia ?

Does it work like Harvard-MIT ?

What does that mean ?

What I meant is that if you go to Harvard, you can take classes at MIT, and viceversa.

Does that work with Columbia and NYU ? Can one take classes at NYU if one goes to Columbia ? (because of some departaments being significantly better)

Yes, there are courses in the directory that are listed as being at NYU. They’re generally the weird foreign languages.

To answer your question, no. You can’t take courses at NYU if you go to Columbia. The ONE EXCEPTION is that students who want to take a language offered at NYU that is not offered at Columbia (and there are very few languages not offered at Columbia, but a big one is Cantonese) can take classes at NYU, and vice-versa. In general, though, students at Columbia cannot take classes at NYU and NYU students can’t take classes at Columbia. It is NOT a Harvard/MIT situation. Students at Columbia can take courses at Barnard, and vice-versa. Columbia/Barnard is even more closely integrated than Harvard/MIT.
