Classes schedule??

Hi I'm an International student, from Italy. I'm interested in applying in FIT. But it would be really expensive to live in Ny so I'd live at a family of friends' house helping them to take care of their children. I need to know when I'd have my classes, to know if I could help them and when more or less. Are classes always both in the morning and afternoon? In Italy sometimes you have classes in the morning, the other day you have your classes in the afternoon, other days you don't have any class or you have classes all the day and so on. Is it kinda the same?? Can you tell me your experience? What does your schedule look like? I'm taking Communication Design to continue in Advertising Design. Hope I explained it clearly. Thank you!!

Hi Alessia. My daughter recently scheduled her classes for the fall, she will be a communication design major.

In looking at the schedule we found that there were many different options for each particular class. For instance, for her basic english requirement, there were classes during the morning, afternoon, evenening and even weekend options.

However, you should know that the design students are “assigned” a block of classes (their major area requirements). You cannot change the block to which you have been assigned. You may have to work around those 4 classes, but other than that, it seems that there are enough options for classes so that you will be able to work it around your schedule.

They have an online registrations system, so you will be able to view the schedule and make your plans ahed of time. Keep in mind, there are many evening students at FIT, so having a job during the day and completing your major at night would also be an option.

Good luck, hope it all works out. Let me know if you have any other questions.
