Current students/alums HELP! Can you tell us about really good classes/professors and also some that we should avoid. Like which profs are engaging/boring, which classes are impossibly hard/laughably easy, etc. etc. This would be really helpful for us incoming freshmen when we sign up for classes :)

You know about Culpa (Columbia Underground Listing of Professor Ability), right? I don't know why they call it underground, because anyone can google it.

Sac is right. www.culpa.info is a great way to get info on professors and classes.

the "underground" U is to complete the backronym creating "culpa', a word that happens to mean "fault" in spanish.

It was actually "underground" when I was there. Not that many students knew about it -- and certainly not most of the faculty. It wasn't talked about at all, probably because 1) most people didn't know about it and 2) of the taboo associated with it. The founders operated anonymously (I guess out of fear from the faculty/administration).

Now, these sorts of websites are mainstream. Every large college has a site like CULPA, and there's no taboo about it.

if "U" is merely to omplete the acronym, why couldnt the "U" just be University?
just curious

"underground" sounds infinitely cooler.

OMG this site is amaaaazing! :) Yay, thank you!
