So i didn’t get into Perspectives which I really wanted to take. What are the chances I can email the professor and ask her if I can take the class? It’s either Professor Cronin or Staiti who I want to take it with. She was so funny in a lecture we had and seemed like a really interesting person and I’ve heard good things about Staiti.

Otherwise, can anyone tell me about my professors and/or classes? McFadden for Gen Chem, Chiles for Molecules and Cells, Bankovic for Calc 2, Delahanty for Globalization I, and Boesky for Lit Core.

Cronin I believe only teaches the Perspectives class that’s associated with the Perspectives special interest housing in Duchesne (on Newton) which you would have had to apply for already. That’s basically where she would come to your residential building to teach a class once a week. So unless she’s teaching another Perspectives class it may be impossible. Personally, I’m taking Perspectives with Floyd because my OL said that she had him as an assistant with Cronin, and Cronin basically taught him how to teach the class. She highly recommended him and from what I’ve seen he’s had good course evaluations. Not sure about Staiti but I’ve heard Tacelli (a Jesuit) is pretty good too.

McFadden is a good choice! I had him when I was a freshman for when I was completing my Science Core (don’t recommend doing Gen. Chem for that but it was a nice experience…). The lectures are somewhat dull; he’s nice and I’ve heard he’s quite helpful if you meet up with him during office hours. I mainly used the book to learn the materials though. However, in terms of the other Gen. Chemistry professors, he’s the best.
