Hello, I am currently 15 and hoping to get a scholarship from classical guitar. However, there are not many groups I can join to play in and I need to help your help figuring out what to do in order to prepare for my audition in 2 short years. I found a form similar to my situation, but they are 10 years outdated. Does anyone have any tips on what I should do in hopes of getting a scholarship?
Please let me know! Thank you!!
Have you talked to your teacher? What pieces are you playing now? Do you perform at all?
Just keep working at your technique and musicality.
Are you near a conservatory or city where you could join a classical guitar ensemble, possibly Baroque?
You do not need to worry about auditions right now, just continue to develop. Two years is a long time to grow.
Think about what kind of school you may want to go to. Maybe read the Double Degree Dilemma essay that is posted closer to the top of this music forum, which describes different ways to study music.
