I live in South Carolina. I can't decide which college I want to go to. I know I want to pursue a career in the medical field and I can't decide which school has the best premed programs. I like how USC has graduate programs for medicine but I'm not sure if they are the best in their science department since USC is more of a business major type of school. Clemson seems to be a school that's "stronger" in the science field but I don't think they really have a premed program.
Anybody got some suggestions or ideas?

USC as in South Carolina, or Southern California?

Sorry I should have clarified.USC as in South Carolina

In 2013, Clemson produced 205 applicants for med schools, while USC produced 164. Both school supports pre-meds (via advising, no school has a pre-med major!), it’s up to the student to keep a high GPA, do well on the MCAT and run down EC, etc.

Either school would be fine. Pick the school based on your undergrad major and fit.

Do you have stats for scholarships (beyond lottery money which is same for both schools)? We found USC more generous with scholarship money. Think about all your possible majors. If you find you hate science or get flattened by organic chemistry, what would you change to and which school has that.

Go visit both schools with a fresh eye (not what you’ve assumed growing up in SC) and see where you feel more comfortable. Both will prepare you well for med school.
