Clinical Research Advice Needed

So I have a client that has a friend that is a physician at HSS in NYC (he's a pediatrist). Since my client knows that I am pe-med and am looking for clinical or reserach experience, he put in the good word for me and sent a sort of introduction email to me and the physician.
Clearly the ball is now in my court and I should send some sort of email to this doctor asking him about whatever opportunities he knows of, etc.
But I am not sure what sort of info I should include (background info? future plans?) or if there are specific questions I should ask or not ask.
Any ideas on how to go about this?

Any advice is appreciated.

A. Ammo

What is he again? A pediatrist? Would that be a D.P.M. podiatrist? or an M.D. or D.O. pediatrician?

(OT: I just googled "pediatrist". It appears that the Brits sometime use this word the same as we yanks use pediatrician. Who'd have thunk it. LOL. )

Ooops, I meant podiatrist (foot doctor). :D

You worry way too much. How about just doing it and learning to stand on your own two feet- it's got to be done at some point in your life, especially for something as trivial as this where most of the work HAS been done for you

That's actually pretty good advice. Thank you.
