On the OSU app it says that ASL 1101 is closed already. I know that the classes are small and fill up fast but I didn’t think I wouldn’t even get a chance. Could it be just a glitch or would there still be a way for me to get in? It’s the only class I’m truly excited to take and I’ve been teaching myself off and on for 8 years and I really want to be a part of the culture and community. As an incoming freshman would it still be possible to try and get in and how would I do that?
Maybe you should consider EM credit (taking a test to get credit) so you can move into a class that would better fit your level. Try contacting the department to find out the EM test process for ASL, they usually will have resources for you to study and let you know exactly what the test covers. They also do placement testing, so with 8 years of self-study you probably can place beyond the first class and usually higher level classes are easier to schedule. https://asl.osu.edu/courses/placement
