<p>I got Sorel boots for my older daughter and she loved them. I got them again for the younger one last year. The younger daughter said they are not comfortable for her. She is wearing her Hunter rain boots with lining (and thick socks) instead. She said they are very comfortable and water proof. </p>
<p>Uggs are clunky, and this year’s look is more of tall/slick riding boots. If you want Uggs, just make sure they are water proof and slip proof. Ithaca could get icy.</p>

<p>Okay so would this be a better coat for winter? I think it covers the rear but perhaps I need another opinion. I think having visuals can also help others who are having the same questions.

<p>Ugg boots won’t be good for snow and rain. </p>
<p>North face has some black snow boots that you could get that would be waterproof and good for snow and rain.</p>
<p>Timberland has snow boots that are really good. I bought a pair…but anyone think the coat is too short?</p>
<p>Two of my daughters attend school in Pennsylvania where, admittedly, it might not be as cold as Ithaca but they each chose one of these coats and have been sufficiently warm (not 100% sure the link to the Patagonia jacket is identical to the one my D has but, if not, it’s similar).</p>
