what are some fun clubs to join in berkeley? are students usually active in clubs or are they more towards just plain studying?

There are literally clubs for any interest on campus. Go to [Student Affairs](http://students.berkeley.edu/osl/studentgroups/public/index.asp) to search for a club that fits your interests!

Also, this IS Berkeley. Lots of people come here with the intentions to change the world. Therefore, there are circles that you can join which attract highly aware, socially-conscious students who are on the cutting edge of the ____ movement (affirmative action, eco, health, women-related, foreign policy) of our time.

I hope that answers your questions!

green-aw-lives thanks a lot!!

First off, yes, most students are very active in some sort of extracurricular activity, be it a club, greek organization, or something else. It is one of the great things about Cal: The amazing academics don’t require students to sacrifice their ability to do other things.

One club that I have enjoyed and that is one of the largest and oldest on campus is the UC Rally Committee. For full disclosure, I am on the executive committee of rally comm, but during my first year I found it was a really good way to meet other people on campus and promote school spirit at the same time. Rally Committee acts as the ambassadors of the university. They go to numerous sports to cheer on the athletes and also hold amazing rallies to get everyone excited for football games and other events. Rally comm is also responsible for waving the Cal flags, firing the California Victory Cannon, guarding the official Cal banner, and many other things. It is a blast.

What’s a good club that I can join that does no community service whatsoever?
