i'm having trouble thinking of an answer to the prompt for claremont

Leadership is a constant theme and emphasis at CMC. In fact, one of the ways we describe CMC students is "Leaders in the Making." Identify and discuss a person, fictional or nonfictional, who has helped shape culture and thought. You may select someone from any field: literature, the arts, science, politics, history, athletics, business, education, etc.

i want to write about coco chanel but i'm not sure if that makes me sound superficial. i would write about how she opened opportunities to women and how she changed the fashion industry today. this influenced the fashion culture and thought of women and feminism/ femininity. does this sound strong enough for cmc? i understand cmc is more politically based so i'm not sure if this essay would appeal to the admissions. i also hope that this could be a more original topic. one that not many other people would chose to write about? so i'm asking how often coco chanel might come up for the readers.

if not i would write about deng xiaoping. he influenced china and the world's economy. i'd rather not write about him, but if he seems more suitable for claremont i will.
