CMU ECE Research Internship vs REU

<p>I was just offered a research internship position with Dr. Onur Mutlu in the ECE department for this coming summer. His research project sounds very interesting to me and I'd like to work with him, but before I make a decision I am curious what the difference is between this research internship program and an REU program.</p>

<p>Should the fact that this is not an REU program play into my decision at all?</p>
