Yes it is! She went round and round because it kind of pained her that the best school for her was right here in town. However, after she met the art faculty (she’s going to double major in French and Art Studio), she was completely sold.

We’re out of state, so will wait anxiously. S1 is interested in HC and parents are interested in merit, lol. Did anyone who received the big envelope also have an invitation to the scholarship interview weekend?

OK my son just called – he said 3 of his friends got in and they got letters. He asked me if there was a portal, but I saw someone else post they don’t show admissions status on the portal. He didn’t get anything – no yes or no – and all his friends live in the same town.

@classof2015… I am sure it is just the mail this time of year… tomorrow it will be there… My S is also in… He hasn’t been home to open it yet. It is a little anti-climatic as he got into his long shot dream school ED on Saturday… Good luck to all still waiting. great school!!!

We’re in Mass - nothing in the mail but D saw a tweet from COC Admissions that said if you are waiting for an envelope in the mail, check your tracker. D signed on a few minutes ago and saw she was accepted!

My D was waiting at the front door for our mailman. My wife talked to him yesterday about what he might be delivering today. He played along by telling my D that he had nothing but junkmail…then he handed her the big envelope…a great early Christmas present…thanks CofC

Love that story Townie… made me smile:) Congrat’s to everyone with acceptances…boo to the deferral… hopefully that will change to accepted soon!!

thanks again 5boys – do you really have 5 boys??? Years ago, my son (who only has a big sister) was playing with a family with 2 boys and he came home and said, “Mom – can you make me a brother?”

My heart aches for him – not only this deferral, but one from UVM too. And today is his birthday! 18.

I know there is sometimes no rhyme or reason to these things, but I am hoping things work out for a reason.

Congrats to all with big beautiful envelopes! May his time come soon.

@Classof2015 I really loved what you wrote on the parents thread. It made me so happy to hear about the birthday party and how he has so many great friends. That is what is important, you are right. I wanted to just touch on how this process will have many ups and downs, but he will end up at the right place. My DS12 had an experience very much like your S. He was deferred from 4 of his EA school, one of which was UVM, and also deferred from his ED school. The funny thing is that he was ABOVE the 75% at a few of them. The saddest thing was knowing how devastated he was, but him trying not to show it… I literally cried myself to sleep a few nights. It is tough to see all of your friends getting acceptances, and you have nothing. UGH! Fast forward a few year later and his SOOO happy at his college it is ridiculous. He ended up at a school he added at the last minute after all those deferrals. It will all work out, it just will take a little longer.

FYI… he did get into a few of his deferrals, UVM for one:))

YES, I have 5 boys… it’s been quite the ride… but my baby just got into his ED school… so I AM DONE!! it has only taken me 32 years:)))
