Cognitive Science Department at Case

Hey,

I just returned from an overnight at Case and a major selling point for me is the Cognitive Science Department. Can any current students in that department give me more information. I know its a new department, so how legit do you feel it is? research opportunities? etc.

Although i'm not a cogsci major, I have taken one class, and have a good friend that is a cogsci major. As far as I know, its a very legitimate program. I'm currently taking a very good class with a professor that does some extremely interesting research with dolphin language/cognition. Also, I have a friend that is working in a cogsci lab, so I don't imagine its too difficult to find research positions.
I can't really say too much regarding the strength of the program as a whole, but I think they do a very good job of having the cogsci students get a very interdisciplinary education (several classes are listed as philosophy/cogsci/biology)- and overall, it leads to a very comprehensive curriculum. I would ask an advisor about grad school placement though, as i'm sure thats what most cogsci majors do.

-hope that helps
