Cognitive science math courses

How math intensive is the cognitive science major? I'm debating on whether I should take 1A or 16A. I'm currently taking AP Calc AB/BC and got a B all year. I'm thinking I won't be getting anything higher than a 3 on the AP test. I'm also on the pre-med track, so should I just start the first semester with 1A or 16A?

Cognitive science requires the following lower division requirements, according to http://ugis.ls.berkeley.edu/cogsci/major.php?page=requirements</a> :

Math 1A or 16A
Math 55 or CS 70 (discrete math for math and CS majors respectively)
CS 61A (for CS majors) or Engineering 7 (computing for engineers)
Cognitive Science 1
MCB 61 or 64

The first two are math, and it is likely that most students find Math 55 or CS 70 the harder one (these courses introduce mathematical logic and proof techniques, among other things). CS 61A and Engineering 7 are not math per se, but CS typically requires similar type of thinking as math. CS 61A lists Math 1A as a corequisite, and Engineering 7 lists Math 1B as a corequisite.

Some upper division courses may require mathematical or logical thinking, such as the computational modeling course (CS 188 or Cognitive Science C131 / Psychology C123) and the philosophy course.
