Coke Scholars Questions: Listing Grades (1) and School Limits (2)

Hi,

(1)

On the application, it asks that you list ‘at least two grades for classes under each category’. I received a B in math my freshman year and 2 B’s in language freshman and junior years.

Would it be better to list every grade other than these B’s, or will it make the committee wonder why english, history, science have all A’s listed while math is missing one grade and language is missing two?

Would it be better to list exactly two grades under each category - even if I have other A’s?

(2)

My school offers only one leadership position in any club - President - and while there is not a limit on the number of clubs one can participate in, if you are participating in a certain subset of clubs, you may not participate in others (ex: if you do newspaper, you cannot do yearbook). Also, while there is no official limit to leadership positions, teachers will simply not pick you for more than a certain amount of positions - generally accepted by the student body as 3 main clubs.

The result of both of these things means that my app looks a bit sparse, even though I’ve participated in as many clubs as was possible schedule-wise and am tied for most leadership positions with a couple students at ‘3 clubs’.

I also held non-school internships - but they don’t count as community service.

Is there any way I can indicate these things on my application?

Thank you for your help!

Bump!

You should be listing all your grades.

If there is a limit on the kind of clubs, list that as the participatory limit.

@CourtneyThurston - Thanks! But what if the limit isn’t some number, but more qualitative limits like the example I have above?

@CourtneyThurston - Sorry to bug you, but do you know how I could/should figure that out?

No. Gotta do the best you can with the application you’re given. Best of luck
