Colby Class of 2025 -- Regular Decision Date: Mid-March

We received a letter in the mail last week thanking us for our child’s application, indicating that there are a high number of well qualified applicants , so forth and so on. Our child is a multi legacy at Colby, and has good stats, ECs, sports, APs and test scores. Let’s hope that this is a form letter sent to all applicants who have parents, etc. who attended and is not a precursor of things to come.

We haven’t received anything from Colby other than the request for additional information.

We received a similar letter from Yale, where our son is a legacy applicant. Perhaps it is standard to send letters to legacy applicants?

My son is a current Colby student and his sister is applying. The only thing she got was a request for additional information.

Fwiw, I got that letter from my alma mater (not Colby) when DS applied. It’s a form letter. My guess is that regardless of decision, it’s supposed to be a thank you for confidence in the school. And more important, it’s your reassurance that legacy status has been noted.

I don’t think it is an indication one way or the other of what admissions will decide.

Hello everyone
I am an intl student. CSS fee resembles a financial burden for me so I filled out a specific form that colby offers instead of the CSS (it contains the income and average family contribution) and it was marked as received in my finanicial application.
I have checked my portal just now, and the CSS changed to be marked as awaited!
I am so concerned. I have sent the admission commitee an email. But I would like to know if that is normal ?

Bates releases decisions tomorrow - hopefully Colby soon follows!

We also received a similar letter from Brown where my husband went so sounds like it might be common.

Hey, I am international student.

Receiving request from IDOC for Colby college is good sign?

Hi everyone, I’m an international student from South Africa and I am pleased to meet you all.

I’ve heard about this before but doesn’t it mean you should upload your financial aid documents or something?

So my financial aid application has been downloaded and it’s showing that they received it yesterday when in actual sense I submitted it back in January.

Yeah it does and most of the time they ask additional stuff when they are planning to admit the student… @Etik1234 I think it is a good sign personally as not everyone got it

So do we think it’ll come out tomorrow night or not?

God I hope so. I am leaning more toward around the 20th but it would be really nice to get their decision tomorrow. Note that they have a record number of applications this year, so they might unfortunately take a bit longer with decisions!

Yeah I’m hoping it happens tomorrow but also kind of doubt it! I just wish all schools would send out the dates in advance.

Yeah I definitely agree. I literally got my Bates email at a random time in the middle of my morning workout and I decided to spend 20 minutes after receiving it to finish the workout before checking LMAO.

We will hear back soon though! My guess is March 15-20!

I’m hoping for this week too! Gotta stay positive!

As long as I am admitted at the end of the day, no complaints!

Haha I’m not too confident I’ll get in
