Colby Class of 2025 -- Regular Decision Date: Mid-March

I totally feel you! I was super self-conscious about my application bc I only got accepted into USM and McGill, both of which basically only admit based on grades and scores. Congrats on the Colby pres. scholar email! Here’s to more acceptances in the future!

true hahaha

Of course and congratulations!! So great for you. Just wanted to give some hope to the other candidates still waiting for news.

Totally! Not getting a likely letter is NOT crucial at all for getting into a school! I’ve seen so many people get into crazy selective schools without getting any likely letters or early writes!

Sorry, I misread your original comment! I thought you said “getting a likely letter is no big deal” (rather than NOT getting one). My bad!

No worries. Good luck with the rest of you applications. Colby is so great. If you have any questions let me know and I can ask my son. He is a sophomore computer science major who LOVES it there.

Thank you!! Will do!

Does anyone know of any early indicators of an acceptance, waitlist, rejection from previous years?

Hello AGAIN! The emails are a good indicator. See above posts about the potential indication from each email!

I saw on another thread that Colby decisions will be out on March 15 but I don’t know where they got that day. So it could totally be wrong but I figured I might as well throw it out there!

its based on the CSS profile saying they will release the decisions at around 15th Mar.

This could mean March 15th or March 43rd idk

Hello Nathaniel,
Thank you for your email. Our decisions date for the Regular Decisions round is scheduled for on or before April 1st. When decisions are released, you should receive an email from us letting you know that a new update is available through your portal. You will be able to log in and see your decision from there at that time. Let me know if you have any additional questions!

Hey y’all! I just wanted to contribute in some way to this Colby application community, so I came up with song recs to play after you get a decision. I am OBSESSED with Sara Bareilles so here are songs to play for each scenario:

Acceptance!: “I Choose You” or “Chasing the Sun” (or both if you feel like doing extra dancing!)
Waitlist: “Love Song” (if you don’t like the school that much) or “Gravity” (if you love the school)
Denial: “Little Black Dress” or “King of Anything” (literally what I am listening to all day now to get my rejection mentality set).

Is the Pulver Scholar email considered a likely letter or no? Thank you in advance to anyone who responds!

I think it’s a fairly good sign but it isn’t as indicative of acceptance as the Pres. Scholar email (which isn’t even quite a LL, since it doesn’t guarantee acceptance, only strongly suggest it).

Got it. Thank you

Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if decisions don’t come out on the 15th. I believe Colby typically sends out decisions around the 20th, and this year they have a record number of apps, so it may even be pushed back. Hoping it’s the 15th though!

so was the additional information email sent to everyone? how should I feel about receiving that email…better or worse?

I didn’t get the email. Have no clue what it means lol :woman_shrugging:t2:

So I believe the additional info email is pretty common to get. I think it is the most common email of all the ones Colby sends out (based on what other applicants have said on this thread and in my school). It seems like not everyone gets it, so I would take it as an indicator that there are no red flags in your app, but more importantly that you have the opportunity to present more info about you! Hopefully you utilized the opportunity to boost your app!
