@laritalara Their website currently says “Mid-March” Regular Decision Applicants | Colgate University
Last year I believe it was around March 26
Anyone thinking of shifting to ED
I am thinking about it. If you don’t mind, can you share your stats?
Last year, RD was released 3/21. No news on a date for this year yet.

Nah. Haven’t visited!! Would have used ED card somewhere if had been able to visit schools.
There goes my chance of getting accepted!
@BlueLakely why do you say that?
Colgate was already a reach for me based on previous years’ acceptance rates. Considering there are DOUBLE the applications this year, I have no chance of getting in. Luckily I am happy with other schools I applied to that I have a high chance of being accepted to.
@BlueLakely stay positive. Good to have other options but the increase in applicants is because kids applied to more schools. They couldn’t visit And narrow down favorites, or applied to more reach schools with test optional. Your class is going to have to be very patient bc there will be many wait lists before the schools can right size their applicant pools. If kids applied to 20 schools, they still can only attend one!
At least that’s what I’m thinking and trying to prepare my D. Best of luck to you!
I hadn’t thought about that. Thanks!
I also read somewhere that despite record apps, Colgate is expecting its lowest over yield rate - I would not entirely be surprised if there was some yield protection this year.
I do agree with you. But that is not the case with international applicants like me. A lot of students, who were planning to apply to the UK or Canada, are applying to the US just because of the test-optional policy. It’s sort of like without the test-optional policy, they would not be applying to the US at all. So, that really increases the competition among internationals.
And, on a different note, anyone has any idea when the ED II decisions would come out?
is it too late to switch to edII?
Nope. Deadline is on 1st march
Anyone know how selective their computer science major is?
Colgate doesn’t admit by major.
I would also check out Bucknell, it is very similar to Colgate, but just like Colgate applications also went up for Bucknell so it’ll prob be harder as well.
do you still get an email that your decision came out if you do not get in? I got an email that my decision will be coming out tomorrow.
