A mom here in CA, and my daughter hasn’t heard or received anything yet.
Accepted!
4.4 GPA, 2180 combined SAT, several academic honors and various extracurriculars
yeah i can see the checklist but i was rejected. being able to see the checklist is not an indication as to if you got accepted or not. just wait for you letters to come, i know it’s hard but it’s the only sure way to know
Accepted! I’m from MD and my portal is the same if it helps anyone. Good luck to you all!!
In NYC. Nothing in the mail today…Does that mean anything?
@zimzamzoom Same here, I was waitlisted. I’m not really shocked, just disappointed that it is probably an indicator of the rest of my decisions.
I’m so so proud of everyone who was accepted!! And to those who weren’t or were waitlisted, it’s ok, you’ll be fabulous elsewhere if that’s what happens
Accepted! (In Indiana)
Good luck to everyone who is waiting for the result. Mine came in a FedEx mail.
I know that some of the parents waiting for prep school admissions signed up for FedEx alerts so they’d know if a package was coming. Not sure if that’d be helpful in this situation, but it sounds like it might be.
Since rejections went out via USPS, they’ll come later in most cases. If you read the threads from the ED folks, you’ll see that trend.
Accepted! 3.78 UW 4.43 W GPA 2140 Superscored SAT, one of my top choices now after being rejected from Bowdoin and Waitlisted at Middlebury, still waiting on Bates, Colby, Cornell and Tufts
Does anyone know about how many people were waitlisted/usually get waitlisted per year at Colgate? Thanks!
@Puppy4 http://www.collegedata.com/cs/data/college/college_pg02_tmpl.jhtml?schoolId=235
if you’re on the admissions tab and scroll down, it will tell you how many are offered a spot on the waiting list and how many usually take that spot
I’m not sure how accurate the data is but it says 1734 are offered wait list spots, and 880 take them (I don’t know what year this is for or if it’s an average)
@acorn1216 Thank you so much!
Yikes, and only 60 people got in off the WL!
@puppy4 my son’s waitlist letter said in 2019 Colgate enrolled 45 students from he waitlist and in 2018 they enrolled 52 students from the waitlist. They received 8300 applications this year for 760 spots. Hope that helps!
is that anyone can access into “new student checklist” again?
@admitmemaybe - Hey, best to keep a positive mind anyway. Who knows? Maybe both of us will reject their waiting list with our top schools!
On a side note, congratulations to everyone accepted. You all deserve it. I’m not sure if I’ll be accepting a spot on the waiting list, but keep me posted
Has anyone in CA received anything yet? Our regular mail already came with nothing in it. Also, I’m unfamiliar with wait lists, but when you get offered a spot on the wait list, do they include any type of financial aid offer? We would only be able to afford Colgate with a significant aid offer as it is.
@WestVirginia130 - Unfortunately, schools do not offer any type of financial aid for those who are waitlisted as they have not been accepted to the school.
Thanks Zimzamzoom! That’s too bad, so I guess we’ll just keep hoping for acceptance!
My son is from CA. We received fedex package ard 10 am today.accepted with Alymni Memorial Sccholar…i am so happy for him.
